Windows 10 Home, changed boot to diagnostic mode using MSCONFIG, now computer will not start

Was trying to fix an error for a friend on her Acer Laptop unable to type anything when trying to enter wireless network passwordWindows 10 Home, changed boot to diagnostic mode using MSCONFIG, now computer will not startUsing recovery options, I can get to command prompt. There is only one user listed, it asks for password - enter password, get command promptType in MSCONFIG, says I need administrator rightsStuck with computer unable to boot up. I get a splash screen that says ACER, and a loading wheel that just spins below.TIA

  2. MSCONFIG diagnostic startup. How to get out since you can't run MSCONFIG in this mode. Windows 10 Home, changed boot to diagnostic mode using MSCONFIG, now computer will not start :(

Once you run MSCONFIG & set Windows to boot in diagnostic mode, how do you get back OUT of diagnostic mode? Once you boot in diagnostic mode, MSCONFIG will no longer run so how does one turn this option back OFF? Bear in mind that I'm asking about this
for a dual boot system with Windows 7 and 10 so some of the F keys (like e.g. F8) can't be used.

There must be an option somewhere in Settings or Control Panel, but I'll be dipped if I can find it. HELP! TIA

Msconfig changed and no more login

It comes up that it isn't available. It isn't in safemode and there is no item in the bcdedit list with safemode.

However, I was able to solve this.

Although I cannot get into safemode with F8 or holding shift-restart, I was able by shutting down my system 3 times by holding power switch on computer. It came up with options and that allowed me access to safemode. From there I win-r for run box and started msconfig to restore.

    Thank you for trying.

Recovery to normal startup from diagnostic startup in windows 10

    Hi Dimas,

There are different factors that can contribute to the issue you're facing that your computer wont boot up to the normal Windows 10 environment after using diagnostic startup. This could be caused by corrupted files or settings that need to be reconfigured.
As a initial recommendation, kindly refer to the steps below to start the computer in normal mode.

    • Press Windows + R keys from the Keyboard.
    • Type msconfig and hit Enter.
    • Click on the General tab.
    • Select the Normal startup option.
    • Click on Apply and Ok.
    • Restart the system and check.

We look forward to your response once you complete the steps.
