  1. Can not remove/Change birthdate on one of my outlook email accounts to remove adult consent...

I have 2 emails email 1 and email 2 both on outlook.com domain that I have used for YEARS without issue over outlook apps and through outlook.com. Email 1 is used for personal things and business and email 2 is used for junk and gaming and has only random account information added to it. I noticed that on June 16 2022 that email 2 was added to email 1 got a notification on email 1 as a child account in the MS family group thing by MS as I would have never done this. I am an adult and do not want this as the emails are supposed to be separate... I can not even edit email 2

    :)

  2. How To remove a Child consent

You can remove an account from a family group. The account will still exist, but it won't have the benefits or restrictions it had when it was within the family group. To remove a member from your family group, you must have an adult account, and be the
    one who gave consent.

    1. 1
      Go to family.microsoft.com.
    2. 2
Sign in with your Microsoft account, then:
      • To remove a child, scroll down and select Manage my child's profile info, select the child, select Remove consent for this child's account, and confirm. Then, go back to your family’s page, and under the child’s name, select More
options > Remove from family, and confirm.
      • To remove a child because they’re now an adult, or if an adult account has been misclassified as a child account, verify the account.
      • To remove an adult, under that person's name, select More options > Remove from family, and confirm.
      • To leave the family group if you’re the only adult in the family, remove all children first, then find your name, select Leave family, and confirm. You must be over the statutory age to remove yourself.
      • If you're incorrectly listed as a child when you're an adult, see How to change a birthdate on a Microsoft account.

Changing a Microsoft account from an (incorrectly entered) adult birthdate to the correct child's birthdate

The links provided in the above response pertain to an account which is already setup as a child. That is not my situation.

My issue is going from an ADULT account to a CHILD account. Currently, the account is setup (incorrectly) as an adult account. I would like to update the birthdate to reflect that this is a child account.

This is an easy scenario to test:

    • Setup a new Microsoft account with a birthdate that makes you an adult.
    • Log off and then log back in
    • Go to your profile and attempt to change the birth date to make you a child.
    • The system will prevent you from making this change.
    Any suggestions?
