  1. How to identify faulty drivers from a MEMORY.DMP file caused by driver verifier?

Running a Windows 10 Pro, Version 10.0.19044 Build 19044.System Model : VivoBook 15_ASUS Laptop X507UBR Barely 3 years oldRAM: 8GB SSD: Acer RE 100 2.5’’ 256GB 10 months oldI recently got a memory management blue screen error, followed by a S.M.A.R.T status bad.I have run chkdsk, sfc and also various 3rd party error detection software but my SSD passed all of them. For some reason I have been getting the same memory management error once in a month for the past 7 months, and every time I send it for repair, they say the SMART status bad was a false alarm caused by corruption of system file

  2. verifier shows all drivers as faulty

I have been getting BSOD for some time so I used verifier to find out the faulty driver(it was suggested to me in the community). It showed the faulty driver, I uninstalled it.

then after few days I again got a BSOD. So I performed the verifier again, it again showed some other driver as faulty, I removed it too but again I got the BSOD and again the verifier showed some driver as faulty. So I am wondering if I am doing things
right. Please guide me, what should I do further.

Pinpointing Faulty Driver Causing Memory BSODs

    Hello!

Wanted to get some advice on pinpointing which driver is faulty on my machine. I recently built a desktop, installed Windows 10 on it (specs are in the OneDrive folder linked below).

I keep running into BSODs while using the machine after powering it on- it typically happens while I'm playing Overwatch.

At first, they varied widely- I got errors like:

    • kmode exception not handled
    • driver_irql not less or equal
    • driver overran stack buffer
    • attempted execute of noexecute memory

After doing some reading, I realized it was a memory issue, and using the Windows Debugging Tool I found that they were probably caused by wdf01000.sys, but wasn't able to go farther than that. I messaged the MS support, they recommended reinstalling Windows-
I did, and it was fine for a while.

Now it's starting to come back... but I would get an error saying "memory management" as soon as the lock screen appeared. I ran the Windows memory diagnostic, but that came out clean.

I enabled the Driver Verifier for all non-Windows driver and went through the "clean boot" procedure (went into system configuration, disabled all non-Windows services from startup and disabled everything under startup in task manager). Now everything is
fine- but when I power down my computer, it shows me a BSOD with an error code, "driver verifier found faulty driver" - but it won't tell me which one. As of now, I have a working desktop with a faulty driver currently disabled lurking somewhere...

After going through this clean boot process, I noticed that as soon as I started my keyboard software (Logitech Gaming Software 8.91), I'd get a BSOD with the error "system exception thread not handled"- so I uninstalled that, but the Driver Verifier is
still showing the BSOD when I power down.

So: I am relatively sure that one of my drivers is faulty, cause the RAM test came out clean. I want to pinpoint which driver is causing these crashes, but I don't know how other than enabling them upon startup one at a time.

    Followed the procedures mentioned in
    these

Any tips on where to start? Thanks for the help in advance!

How to identify faulty drivers from a MEMORY.DMP file caused by driver verifier?

    Driver Verifier causes crashes incriminating

Hello, today I runned the tool "Driver Verifier" in order to stress my drivers to assure everything is okay. After rebooting, t got a BSOD caused by the antivirus Bitdefender.

On Mon 26/06/2017 14:13:44 your computer crashed

    crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\062617-8578-01.dmp

This was probably caused by the following module: bdfwfpf.sys (bdfwfpf+0x1203)

    Bugcheck code: 0xC4 (0x2000, 0xFFFFF80D7DA11203, 0x0, 0x57464442)

    Error: DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION

    file path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Firewall\bdfwfpf.sys

    product: BitDefender Firewall

    company: BitDefender LLC

description: BitDefender Firewall WFP Filter Driver

Bug check description: This is the general bug check code for fatal errors found by Driver Verifier.

This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.

A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: bdfwfpf.sys (BitDefender Firewall WFP Filter Driver, BitDefender LLC).

    Google query: BitDefender LLC DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION

Is this normal or should I do something about it ?

Sorry but english is not my language.

    Thanks.
