My touchpad and trackpoint are not working.

Hello. My touchpad and trackpoint are not working. This started like a week ago, i didn't spill water or anything, the only thing i did was cleaning with 95% alcohol,it wasn't a lot just a little bit. I tried everythingInstalled the latest drivers.I even installed pop os on dual boot with windows 10 , and it didn't work. The touchpad doesn't work either in Diagnostic menu. I don't think this is a hardware issue, but idk.because if the touchpad got damaged at least the trackpoint would work. Microsoft support said one of my audio drivers is causing this. This i

Thinkpad TrackPoint page scroll not working in windows 10

Thinkpad TrackPoint page scroll is not working in windows 10. That is in most of the OS. But in FireFox browser, it does work, but not in Edge nor in Chrome.

All other places the touchpad has to be used (and the pad works fine everywhere) - but being an old school user of Thinkpads (more than 20 years...) the convenience of the TrackPoint has been used frequently - and the fun part is that it worked in Win 7
ult and the first upgrade to Win 10.

But a new harddrive and a very old (and "polluted") installation asked for a new install of windows. Since one cant use the direct install of Win10 the old Win 7 was quickly installed without any modifications and then the upgrade was installed. And everything
else works fine. But not the scroll function with the middlebutton and the TrackPoint. That is: the cursor changes into the scroll icon - the horizontal and the vertical depending upon which way you press the TrackPoint - but it does not work.

The setup of the TrackPoint has of course been consulted and tried, another driver (both from Lenovo and from Synaptics) has been tried. Nothing seems to work.

So please: Can anyone help? I truly miss the full functionality of my Thinkpad

    Thanks in advance.

    Greetings Tina H

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop

    Hello everyone,
My laptop's touchpad works and I don't want it to, because I prefer a mouse. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series on windows 10 OS.

What I have tried that hasn't worked:
    • start<settings<devices<mouse & touchpad<additional mouse options. This opens a window called Mouse Options which has 5 tabs up top, none of which involve the touchpad. The Hardware tab shows 2 devices: the mouse itself, and the USB. No touchpad there.
    • windows key+x<mobility center. No touchpad to be found.
    • various function keys. No options for touchpad on/off.
    • device manager<mice and other pointing devices. Again, only the mouse and usb show up. It appears the touchpad is working without a driver, which is a little spooky.
Any other suggestions? I could try downloading a third party driver, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction.
    Thanks
