After installing update KB5016629 on Windows 11 - BitLocker blue screen is shown

After installing the Windows 11 update KB5016629 OS Build 22000.856 my laptop is displaying the BitLocker blue screen and I cannot get the BitLocker key. I have spoken to my business administrator and they cannot get it either.I've gone into the 3 different places where my BitLocker key is supposed to be and they are all blank... When setting up this laptop there was never anything asking if I wanted to install BitLocker or not, if there was I know I would've saved it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get access back to my PC?

    :)

  2. Windows 11 Cannot install update KB5016629

Have Windows 11 (upgrade from Win 10) - cannot install KB5016629 (and before it KB5015814) - tried all MS recommendations but still doesn't install. Have now hidden it using WUSHOWHIDE. My WINVER is currently showing Version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.739). When the update tries to install it goes up to 100%, reboots and then it says, "Something didn't go as planned. No need to worry - undoing changes. Please keep your computer on", then it takes about 10 minutes undoing all the changes and sets everything back to where it was - BUT when I re-boot again, it again tries to install the updates and does EXACTLY the same.

I have looked at MS sites and other windows-related sites (like https://howtofixwindows.com/windows-11-update-failed-to-install/…) I have followed all the instructions, even downloaded and installed the update manually (from the MS Update catalogue), it appears to install, gets to 100% and then I get EXACTLY the same error message. It's a bit concerning, as the same things happened with KB5015814 and I thought the cumulative update in KB5016629 would cover everything that I couldn't install with KG5015814, but as neither will install I am still left with an old build.

Looking at these forums and other general posts on the Internet and the MS Feedback forum, I know that I am not the only one having these problems

  3. Windows 11 Cannot install update KB5016629

    Hi John,

Did as you said and removed Malwarebytes and turned off Net 3.5 and I think it has worked. Funny thing is that KB5016629 does not show in the Update history, but it DOES show in Control Panel, Programs and Features as an installed Update. My WinVer is now 22000.856. IS that the correct build? If so thank you so much for suggesting something different which actually seemed to work - I never want to see "Something didn't go as planned. No need to worry - undoing changes. Please keep your computer on" again!
