Win 10 can't boot or repair after interrupted update

I'm stuck in a worsening Win 10 situation, so will appreciate any advice. Suspect to be registry or Windows image corruption, but no longer have RegBack and having trouble with DISM. Here's the sequence of events: 1 Laptop had very low disk space, but Windows still decided to download and auto-install an update. 2 Update was stuck on blue loading screen for hours, so I made the mistake of interrupting the update by turning off my laptop. 3 When I restarted, I got to the Win 10 logon screen but encountered the error: "User profile cannot be loaded" when I tried to sign-in. 4 Rebooted i

  2. Windows 10 USB boot

Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

    There is three options:
    Windows 10
    Windows 10 Home
    Windows 10 N

Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

    System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?
That would be the ideal alternative. Thanks

    Win.10 won't boot after installing Win.7

    Hi,

So i installed Win.10 via the UEFI and after installing Win.7 on Legacy Mode onto a different HDD i can't boot into Win.10 (I believe can only because Win.10 was installed via UEFI)

I tried installing the BCD Software but nope. I even tried to select my HDD but say Winload.exe error

Even tried going into the USB and try repairing but the same thing happens

  4. Win 10 can't boot or repair after interrupted update

After Interrupted HD Repair Windows 10 wont boot

This is why I had suggested the Startup Repair tool be run a few times as well while manually rebuilding the BCD will take some instructions. One good set you can go by is explained at How To Rebuild the BCD in Windows

The page there also points to how to go about getting into and moving around in the Advanced Startup Options as well. Essentially the same steps you would take for Vista apply to each newer version since due to it being the same type of BCD store in each of the newer versions to follow. The command you type in while at the command prompt option while booted live from the 10 media is simple! "bootrec /rebuildbcd" equals boot repair /rebuild bcd store
