Windows 10: Is Microsoft User Friendly? EX: Windows 10 Change Local Password [SOLVED]

I recently spent a few hours looking into the subject of how to change my local Windows password because I had unfortunately forgotten it. I know my Microsoft password, email, phone number, etc...and yet according to this community post by Microsoft... https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-or-reset-your-windows-password-8271d17c-9f9e-443f-835a-8318c8f68b9c ...my only option was to factory reset my computer and do a clean install in order to be prompted to generate a new password. I don't know if I'm the only one but this really bothered me and prompted the question, is Microsoft

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.

Forgot Local Password

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and reset the password for the local account and check.

• 
  Login in to your Microsoft account.

  Press Windows logo key + X key.
  
• 
  Select Computer Management.
  
• 
  Click on Local user and group.
  
• 
  In the right window pane, double click on user’s folder.
  
• 
  Right click on local user account and select set password and follow the on screen instructions.

• Press Windows key + X and then choose Control Panel.

• Select Manage another account and then click your user name or the local account that you wanted to set for a new password.
• Click Change the password.
• Provide the correct details to change your local account password and then click
