Windows 10: How to turn on the battery saver while plugged in on Windows 11?

How to turn on the battery saver while charging? The button "Turn on now" is grey.

Unable to Windows OS 10 Update my Surface Pro 4, "Battery Saver is on" error even though plugged in and NOT in Battery Saver mode

• Trying to perform Windows Update for Windows 10 OS as recommended.
• Get error message that "Battery Saver is turned on, so we've paused downloads."
• This is a Surface Pro 4, plugged in. So it won't go into Battery Saver mode while plugged in. Battery Saver is indeed "off" as demonstrated in Settings and in the Right hand side "Charms" icon.
• I restarted the Surface several times but still having the same error.

Thank you for the information. There are several ways on how to turn On or Off battery saver in Windows 10. We suggest trying the steps below and check If it will work for you:



Method 1:

• Open the Action Center (Windows key +
  A).
• Click on the Battery saver action button to toggle it On or Off.

Method 2:

• Open Settings.
• Click on System.
• Choose Battery on the left side and turn On or Off the
  Battery saver status until next charge option.
• Close Settings once done.

Method 3:

• Open Settings.
• Click on System.
• Choose Battery on the left side and check the “Turn battery saver on automatically if my battery falls below:”.
• Adjust the slider to the battery percentage level you want.
• Check or uncheck the Lower screen brightness while in battery saver option if you want.
• Close Settings once done.

Cannot turn on Battery Saver

I have installed windows 10 for about half a year, had run a number of updates, etc.

In the past couple of months I get a pop-up message that my battery is charged above xx% and that is reducing the battery life.

That happens when I plug in the laptop for say 2-3 hours, as the battery charges towards 100%.

Previously, I had a setting that the battery charge limit was set to about 66 or 80%, and that was suppose to extend battery life.

I cannot find where the setting for the charging limit on my settings anymore.

The battery charges to 100% when plugged in.

In addition, I cannot turn on the "Off/On" button under

"Settings/System Display, notifications, apps, power/Battery saver/ Battery saver is currently:"

as the button is always off, and cannot be turned on.

I tried various solutions found on various websites, but that button is always off.

In fact, the whole field ("Battery saver is currently: <button> Off") is grayed out as inactive.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
