  1. Upgraded GPU, No Video Output

I upgraded my GTX 1060 6gb to an RTX 3070. After installing it, turning the system on, and installing new drivers, I concluded that the computer worked fine. However, when I finished closing the side panels of my case and turned the computer on again, I saw that all the components would turn on fine but there wasn't any video output. I know that the 3070 was getting power because the lighs and the fans were on. I think this might be a loose power supply cable but I'm not sure where. In addition, after turning on the computer and seeing now output, I tried to turn it off by holding the power bu

  2. Video card or RAM need upgrading?

Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.

BSOD upon upgrading to windows 10

    Hi Michael,

Thank you for posting your query here in Microsoft Community.

The main causes observed so far are driver issues, output to unexpected port, and possibly also issues with the Lock Screen app.

As a first step, I suggest you to try the disconnecting all external devices other than mouse and keyboard if you have connected any check if the same issue occurs.

I suggest you to try the following steps and check if it works for you.

    Method 1:

Try connecting to different video outputs on the PC. Sometimes a change in driver can cause the video to be sent:

      • To a different Adapter: from integrated graphics to a discrete card or vice versa.
      • To a different output: from HDMI to DVI, DisplayPort to VGA, or any other combination.

    Method 2:

Try to boot into Safe Mode with Networking or Enable low-resolution video.

      • Advanced boot options, Safe Mode with Networking, or Low Resolution Video
      • Check Device Manager and look for Display Adapters:
        • If you see 2 items under Display Adapters, disable to integrated video card (e.g. Intel HD 4000 or AMD Radeon HD 4200) and restart. (try vice versa if it does not work)
        • If you see 1 item under Display Adapters, rollback the driver or uninstall the display adapter in Device Manager, and enable the option to delete driver software.

5.1 surround sound issue in Windows 10

    Hi,

    Thank you for your response.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

If you’re connecting an optical cable the settings would be changed so try the following steps

    Two options:

    1. Use the optical S/PDIF output of your motherboard.

    2. Use the HDMI output of your GPU. (This is what I'd recommend if you're using a HDMI display).

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    • Go to control panel.

    • Select sound.

    • Click on playback devices.

For option 1- connect the cable and set the 'Realtek digital output' as default device.

    • Then right click on it.

    • Go to properties.

    • At the rightmost tab select DTS or Dolby Digital or 5.1.
For option 2-connect the HDMI cable through the receiver and set the 'Nvidia HDMI Output' as your default device. Then click 'Configure' and select 5.1 and check if it helps.

If the issue persist then, I suggest you to connect the speakers directly and check in the realtek audio manager if he gets the 5.1 option or not using the SPDIF\output.

Keep us posted on this issue so that we can assist you better.
