  1. HyperV VMs with separate Network connections, one keeps dropping

Hi allI'm having a bit of an issue configuring a couple of HyperV VMs and I am hoping someone can guide me as to what I am doing wrong.Basic setup:Host:- HyperV Host Server: Windows Server 2019- Ethernet Adapter- WiFi AdapterHyperV:- 2 virtual switches, one for ethernet and one for WiFi adapters.- As soon as I add the WiFi adapter it becomes a network bridge connection appears within which only the WiFi adapter is selected.- 2 VMs, both running Windows Server 2019- One configured to use the ethernet vswitch, one the WiFi vswitch. At the moment it's all working perfectly fine, both able to commu

  2. HyperV - Host can't get connection

    Hello everyone,

I have a Windows server 2019 with HyperV, I tried to create an external switch and link a server (VM) but can't get an internet connection (the host is connected, it's a server in the cloud).

I have tried the trick remove the "allow management OS to share this network adapter" and re-enable it before doing the link to the VM but still can't get anything.

    If someone has any idea?

  3. Can I share a network connection from a VM to the host OS?

hmm, i will assumer no responces = no, i cannot share it... lucky me, i finally got it to work in 7 with steps pretty close... Program Files > Pantech is where you will need to point windows to inorder to the card running in 7... though it would be nice to be able to share hardware and network connections from a VM to the host PC...

How to access FTP and RDP on guest VM from host VM using Windows 10 Pro?

We have a Windows 10 Pro system and have enabled HyperV on it. We then created a Windows 10 Pro guest VM. What we would like to do is to RDP to the guest VM from the host and also be able to use FTP to the guest VM to download files from the guest to the host. We have setup the FTP and the Remote Desktop services on the guest VM (Microsoft built-in products - no third party.) How do we setup the host so we can login to the guest via RDP or FTP files from the guest to the host? We found this very old article - Allowing a host machine to talk to guest VM’s in Hyper-V (and vice versa)

which seems to point the way but there are references that don't seem relevant to current Windows 10 Pro HyperV setup. We get the theoretical idea of creating another network with a different IP structure and creating new virtual NIC's on that new virtual network - but the actual technical steps have eluded us. Please note that we are not wanting any Internet connectivity for this - it is strictly local - a computer running Windows 10 HyperV connecting to a VM running on that HyperV host. Everything taking place in one computer. No LAN no WAN.

If someone could detail how we could accomplish this along the lines of the step-by-step of the link provided above - Allowing a host machine to talk to guest VM’s in Hyper-V (and vice versa) - it would be much appreciated. Example configs are super-helpful.
