Windows 10: Hp Envy on Windows 10 opens on a temp user

PC was fine all day, went to dinner & I believe a Windows Update occurred. Upon restart - I had a generic screen/icons/no files & no email.My files & email are all there if I go to C - Users - Lisa, but that is not attached to the quick access documents. It appears to open to a temp user.Is there a way to fix this without a hard reset?I have Carbonite so have a cloud back up of what I need. They were familiar with the issue & said it’s a Windows 10 bug.Thanks for any insight.Lisa

HP Envy Laptop Battery not charging after Windows 10 installation

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

I suggest you to un-install and re-install battery drivers from Device manager and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Device Manager.
• Expand Batteries and right click on Batteries ACPI and click on Un-install.
• Restart the computer and check.

If the issue persist, I suggest you to visit HP Envy website and check whether HP has released any firmware updates for Windows 10. If so, please go ahead and install them and check with the issue.

 

how do I open the cd/dvd disk drive on the back of the HP envy all-in-one?

• When you say, “how do I open the cd/dvd disk drive on the back” are you not able to open the drive to enter a disk or trying to replace the drive?
  
• What is the exact model number of the HP Envy PC that you are using? To check type:
  msinfo32 in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.
  

If the CD/DVD drive is not getting detected on the computer, I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned in the HP article

If you are unable to burn CD/DVD using the drive, I suggest you to refer the steps mentioned in the HP article

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
