  1. SFC scan reports corrupted dll and could not repair it / Windows 10 Pro

Hello! I'm trying for the last 4 hours to get the opengl32.dll working, i deleted it, replaced, I ran an SFC scan, then i checked the CBS.log. Then I did a "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" scan, said it repaired the corrupted files, but still I have an error. Basically i did everything what i could find online. The root of the problems was this: "The program can't start because OPENGL32.dll is missing from computer."Then I ended up in a rabbit hole. Here is the CBS.log info regarding the SFC scan: 2023-02-06 18:23:42, Info CSI 00000252 Hashes for file member

SFC reports corrupt files that cannot be repaired

    Hi Jay,

For to better assist you with the SFC reports issue, we'd like to know the following:

    • Have you installed any Windows updates prior to this issue?
    • Please provide us a CBS logs for us to determine what is the file that cannot be repaired.
To get the logs, please follow the steps below:

    • Open a Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Copy and paste findstr /c:”[SR]” %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >”%userprofile%\Desktop\sfclogs.txt”, then hit
Enter. (This will create a sfclogs.txt file on your desktop).
    • Open the sfclogs.txt and check the result of SFC scan.
Note: SFC cannot always fix corrupted files.

We're looking forward to your reply.

  3. SFC reporting corrupt files in Windows 10 Pro

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community and being a part of Windows 10.

I would like to inform that System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a
Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected.

There are no error codes found in the above logs as it is all repaired after running the command. Also SFC scan cannot fix the .dll corrupted files. You may try to run DISM commands and check if it helps.

    Refer:
Fix Windows corruption errors by using the DISMor System Update Readiness tool

If you are not able to repair some files after performing SFC scan, I suggest you to refer to the point 3 “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log
%WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log”. Under the section “Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)” to repair the corrupted files after performing SFC scan.

Refer: Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system
    files

Hope it helps. Get back to us for further assistance on this issue. We will be happy to help you.

  4. SFC scan reports corrupted dll and could not repair it / Windows 10 Pro

SFC reports corrupt files that cannot be repaired

My Surface Pro 4 does not appear to have any problems. But I periodically run System File Check. SFC now reports corrupt files that it cannot repair. I've tried running DISM using the basic restorehealth options. This never has worked without downloading
a fresh .iso copy of Windows, which is no longer available for download. I even tried the DISM from the repair environment. It ran successfully, but SFC still reports corrupt files that it cannot repair. What should I do? I don't want the Windows OS files
on my Surface to be corrupt. From the number of posts on this forum, this must be a common problem. None of the threads I've read suggests anything that I haven't already tried. As I said above, most of the suggestions involve running DISM without referring
to an ISO file. That's strange, since I've never seen that work.
