Windows 10: PGAdmin, cannot register new server Instance Server at, is not persisted

You might encounter the following error while registering a new server in PG Admin.

Instance '<Server at <guid>>' is not persisted.



The issue is mostly due to uninstalling and re-installing PG Admin or installing a different version of PG Admin.

The resolution would be the following.

• Close PGAdmin
• Browse to C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming
• Delete the folder PGAdmin
• Open PGAdmin

This will resolve the issue

Unable to connect to Google servers

There are cases that web content are blocked due to proxy server settings. We suggest that you remove the check mark on the the proxy server box, follow the steps below:

• Type Internet Options in the Ask me anything bar.
• Click on Connections tab.
• Click on LAN settings.
• Remove check in Proxy server box.
  

Once done, access your Google apps and check if issue persist.

Thanks for your help and pointers; here again, I proceeded with all steps but there are still 4 DCOM servers timing out at boot time

• The server {21F282D1-A881-49E1-9A3A-26E44E39B86C} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
• The server {4991D34B-80A1-4291-83B6-3328366B9097} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
• The server {784E29F4-5EBE-4279-9948-1E8FE941646D} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

 

Homegroup For Minecraft Servers Or What?

It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server
