Cant See existing NAS from new W11 PC

I have connected a new Windows 11 PC to my home network, on which I have a NAS, on which I have stored all my files from the old PC. Unfortunately, I cannot see the NAS from the new PC. the old PC is still on the network and the NAS is working for that PC.Based on answers to similar questions, I have enabled network discovery and disabled my PIN temporarily.

  2. W11 PC unable to see and connect to home NAS and other PC's

I have a brand new W11 PC and cannot browse my home network, e.g. my NAS (network attached storage server) I have other W10 PC's and don't have an issue with them seeing the other PC's/server on my home network. This is a simple home network without a domain server. The new PC is running W11 Pro, version 21H2.

    Windows 10 & NAS Box

    Hi Peter,

A few possible reasons can cause this issue. To help us identify the cause of this problem, we would like to know the following information:

    • How is your NAS box connected to your computer? (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or USB)
    • Are you using a program provided by the manufacturer of your NAS box to access it?
    • Do you receive any error messages when accessing your NAS box? If yes, what is the exact error message?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you perform the solution provided by omiklik (Most Helpful Reply)
in the following thread: Unable to see NAS drive on Network - Win 10 PC.

Keep us updated on the status of the issue, and we will be glad to assist you further.

Connecting NAS - mapping of drives

    Ok,

If you want, we can do a step by step troubleshooting of your current situation:

If you are able to ping your Machine and it responds.
    Code:
Try to view if your NAS appears on the Network List:
    Code:
If Your NAS appears on the list, try to view it:
    Code:
The available shares will be listed there.

Then Try to List the content of one of the directories:
    Code:
This should list the content of the directory,

If all this works Try to map a drive on one share:
    Code:
Pls reply with the "response" of the first "encounter" of a non positive output.

This exercise should reveal if you have a Network or Protocol or Cipher or Authentication problem.
