I recently accidentally downloaded a trojan, and I've gone to great lengths to get my PC clean. I've mainly used Windows Defender I've done offline scans too and a multitude of various antiviruses not all at once such as malwarebytes, norton power eraser, avast and even tron from Reddit. As far as I can tell, there's no more trace of the trojan anywhere on the PC. A few days ago I got a few notifications that several of my emails and subsequent accounts were breached they've almost all been fixed and I couldn't pin down what it was. I noticed in each browser I had these websites with wei

I was hoping someone could give me a list of step by step instructions you use as a guide to clean virus, malware...etc. so I can keep my PC clean if it gets infected.

    thx

  3. Nokia Music Manager - No Track Info

Interesting and strange. Also running XP, have inserted CD (real shop bought one not a hooky copy) which NMM sees and lists tracks - but only as Track 01.cda Track 02.cda etc. There is no option to 'Get CD information' anywhere, greyed out or otherwise.

All other music managers iTunes, Real etc read track info fine. Looks like I will have to continue ripping with one of those, then copy to NMM after.

    Many thanks for your time

    Hi:

There is no one set of "boilerplate", "cookbook" or standard steps.
    Each computer is unique.
    Each malware infection is unique.
Proper diagnosis, cleanup and repair depends on the particular infection and the system that is infected.
The process can be tedious and time-consuming, often requiring the use of multiple powerful tools, in the proper sequence.
Many of them can actually damage the system if deployed improperly by untrained computer users.

    Bottom line:
Malware cleanup is best done with *customized* support provided by trained individuals who know what tools to use and how to use them.

There are a few folks with such expertise here at this forum (I am not one of them).
And there are a number of reputable computer disinfection fora where trained malware removal experts provide free, custom assistance.

    Cheers,
