Windows 10: Why does a weird news thing pop up when i hover on the "type here to search" area on my...

When i want to search for an app on my computer, this weird news thing appears on my screen. I tried to turn off news and intrests, but that only gets rid of the weather thing on the taskbar that also shows stocks stuff sometimes. I went in settings and was able to get the actually hover over to make it pop up and it dissapeared, but it still shows this on my screen even though its not there. This only appeared like a week or 2 ago but now its getting annoying as i cant search up anything in the search bar. PLEASE HELP

I suggest you to follow the methods below:

Method 1

I suggest you to restart ecplorer.exe and check.please follow the steps below:

• Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc, under Task manager, click on details tab, search for
  explorer.exe.
• Right click on it and click on End task.
• Click on File in the Task Manager at top left corner of the window and select
  Run new task
• Type explorer.exe and click on OK..

Search and taskbar keeps popping up

Are you referring to taskbar preview window pop-ups?



If yes, there is no option to disable the taskbar window pop-ups when you hover the mouse, this is by design.

However you may Auto-hide taskbar by following the below steps and check if it helps.

• 
  Right click on the taskbar and select properties.
  
• 
  In the Taskbar tab, Place a tick mark for Auto-hide the taskbar.
  

You may provide your suggestions in the feedback app.

Follow the steps:

• Go to Start, enter the phrase Windows Feedback, and then select Windows Feedback.
• See if someone else has given similar feedback by entering the topic, such as Microsoft Music.

Trouble with Hover function

Hi Gwendolyn,

The option to activate a window by hovering it with the mouse may not be enabled, and this could be a possible cause why you are experiencing an issue with using the hover function of your mouse.

Follow these steps to enable the Activate a window by hovering it with the mouse option:

• Using Cortana, type ease of access.
• On the search results, click on Ease of Access Center.
• Choose Make the mouse easier to use.
• Under Make it easier to manage windows, tick on the checkbox beside Activate a window by hovering it with the mouse.
  
• Click Apply and then click OK.
• Restart your computer.
