Storage Spaces USB Drive array - moving to a new computer

I have a Mediasonic 4-bay USB Drive enclosure that holds 4 x 4TB Seagate Drives. I have configured them to create a Storage Spaces pool with my Windows 11 computer. This pool is 14.5TB in size and I am using 8.48TB of it currently. When the Drives enclosure is connected to the computer with a short USB 3.1 cable it works fine. I can optimize it, I can read / write files to it - it's perfect. However - if I connect it with a LONG USB cable and I have tried 3 different cables between the length of 8 - 12 feet, the Storage Spaces does not show up, instead there is a "Unknown USB Device Port

Storage Space drives not usable by new Windows 10 Pro installation

Struggling to find a solution beside formatting the drives and rebuilding the array. I've installed an SSD in my Plex server. The old Windows 10 setup included a Storage Spaces array. Thew new Win10 setup doesn't acknowledge the array or the drives. UEFI
sees the drives, but they do not appear in either Disk Management or Storage Spaces.

Has anyone found a way to make the drives appear as an array without complete rebuilds?

    Thanks

Can I use a RAID 1 drive array as my Windows boot drive?

I am not going to use hardware RAID. I want to use Windows Storage Spaces to create the RAID 1 array from two identical hard drives.

Do I install Windows on the first hard drive then create the RAID array using Storage Spaces?

When I create the RAID array will Windows automatically mirror the Windows installation including the boot partition to the second drive so the RAID array is bootable?

Are their any steps unique to this setup that I must follow when installing Windows or creating the RAID array so that the RAID array will be bootable?

Storage Spaces USB Drive array - moving to a new computer

Drive Spaces Not Finding Moved Drives When New Drive Added

I have a Storage Spaces pool with a single parity space created. I was adding a new drive. I'll call the drives OLD and NEW. I did he following steps over time:

    1. plug the NEW drive into an external drive dock

    2. add the NEW drive to the storage

    3. verified that NEW and OLD drive were in the pool

    3. shut down PC

    3. move the NEW drive to the internal bay

    4. move the OLD drive to the external drive dock

    5. turn on PC

Result: NEW drive shows up in storage spaces, but OLD drive is marked as missing from the storage space. Disk Management shows the OLD drive as a volume that is part of a storage space even though storage spaces doesn't see it.

To troubleshoot, I did the following:

    1. turn off PC

    2. unplug power from NEW drive

    3. turn on PC

Result: OLD drive shows up in the storage spaces, but NEW drive is missing as it is not powered on.

I can go back and forth connecting and disconnecting the power to the NEW drive and always receive the same result: the OLD drive in an external dock is recognized by drive spaces only when the NEW drive is not connected internally. If I put the NEW drive
back in the external dock and the OLD drive back in the internal bay, both work correctly.

Anyone have any ideas on what could be going on and how to fix it?
