Windows 10: File Explorer taking forever to load image previews, and upon clicking returns "Not Responding"

This is for all image forms, PNG, JPG, SVG, etc. Upon opening a file containing them, they remain and the green loading bar appears in the address box. Upon right clicking, single clicking or trying to open an image, file explorer returns "Not Responding" and has to be closed via task manager.Sometimes, after significant waiting this issue just stops.

File Explorer Takes Forever to Respond

Whys is it that since I upgraded to Windows 10 File Explorer and the Desktop take forever to respond whenever I want to do something? It's all the time, not even sporadic. I right-click on a folder to delete it and I have to wait 30 seconds for the context
menu to come up so I can delete it. I double-click on a folder to open it and it takes 30 seconds to open. I right-click on the desktop to change my resolution and it takes 30 seconds for the context menu to come up.

This is only when interacting with the hard drive. Most everything else responds almost instantly. This is my 3rd attempt at running windows 10 on my computer and the 3rd time that I have experienced this kind of behavior.

Does anyone have any clue why Windows 10 does this? Am I the only one with this problem?

Insofar as trying to resolve the issue, I have run Auslogics Defrag as well as the windows optimizer and gotten the same results. I've even reinstalled Windows from scratch 3 times now and every time it is the same end result, forever to interact with my
files. I've even done a system file check and a disk check and still nothing enlightening.

 

File Explorer seriously broken and takes forever to load common folders

My File Explorer seriously just broke apart. It's the apocalypse in the file explorer! The file previews are broken (not
such with imageres.dll), the common folders take forever to load, there's only Quick Acess in the left collum, and I'm going to get a explorer.exe blank error! The task I did before this happened was using VirtuaBox
Windows 7 with MEMZ Clean on the VM.

Setting the Preview pane to show or hide in File Explorer will apply to all folders. If you wish to hide the Preview pane in File Explorer, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Tap on View tab.
• Click Preview Pane to view/hide it.
