    Hi, I’m on an Acer laptop running Windows 11.My audio doesn’t work. I can’t hear anything whether it’s speakers or headphones. I’ve tried updating drivers, uninstalling them then scanning for hardware changes, and I found one solution.My solution was to go to my command prompt as admin, use “net localgroup Administrators /add local service”, then run services.msc in Windows+R, change the properties of the ‘Log On’ tab and make it This account, fill in the blank to “Local Service”, and make a password. Then, I updated my Realtek audio driver in Device Manager manually using High Definition Audi

    Windows 10 sound error: Failed to play test tone and everything

    Hi, I need some help with my sound on Windows 10. Everything is ok but I can’t hear any sound from my speakers or headphones. When I go to the Sound settings and try to play a test tone, it says “Failed to play test tone”. This error started yesterday after I updated Windows 10.

    I have tried the following steps to fix it, but none of them worked:

    • Restarted my computer several times.
    • Checked the volume and mute settings on my computer and speakers.
    • Plugged and unplugged my speakers and headphones.
    • Ran the audio troubleshooter and followed its recommendations.
    • Updated my audio drivers from the Device Manager.
    • Changed the default sound format from the Sound properties.
    • Disabled all audio enhancements from the Sound properties.
    My audio device is Realtek High Definition Audio and my speakers are Logitech Z313. I don’t know what else to do. Can anyone please help me? Thank you in advance.

    “Failed to play test tone.” Windows 11 Issue

    Fail to play test tone on any audio device.

    My computer is a windows 10 alienware laptop that has failed to play a test tone with my speakers, tv or bluetooth headphones. I believe my bluetooth headphones were connected when I walked out of range and disconnected which started the issue. I have tried
    the following things to try and fix it.

    Disabling and enabling the audio speakers

    • Updating the drivers
    • Uninstalling the drivers and restarting so that it automatically puts in the audio driver
    • Restarting the Windows Audio Services

      sfc scannow to repair corrupted files

      Change the sample rate of the audio

      Disable audio enhancements
    • Enable applications to take exclusive control of the device.
    • Disable applications to take exclusive control of the device.
    • I checked and no updates have been installed since it was working.

      Install High Definition Audio Device
    • Run the troubleshooter
    • Set audio speakers as the Default
    • Try other speaker options such as BT headphones and a TV through HDMI
    • Change local and user group settings
    Any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
