Windows 10: wIn 11 pro CD/DVD

I know this question comes up all the time, but I'm asking for help again. The device manager does not see the external DVD/CD drive at all option "show hidden devices" is enabled. I solved this problem by editing the registry before I upgraded OS and the device was OK, but the problem has reappeared. Please write me if there is any available solution for this problem. Yes, the device is mains powered. Yes, it works, the USB port on it it has four is visible and the card is readable. No, the manufacturer is unknown to me and it does not offer branded drivers.Thank you.

New DVD/CD - Not Running

First check the bios ,see if it it is listed as a startup device.
if not then the mainboard is not recognizing it and you Should check the cables and connections.
Forget devices, open the Device Manager and see if it is there, check properties
un check "turn off this device to save power" (just for now)
also check for any errors.
second step if all appears good is to delete the dvd in the Device Manager with the drivers.
reboot and see if it shows.

 

Win 10 upgrade and dvd / cd problems

DVF RW drive OK under Win 7. Upgraded to Win 10 and Device manager thought it was a USB Mass Storage Device and would not read any CDs or DVDs!

Followed many Community suggestions and it played pre-recorded CDs but Explorer could not 'see' any files on my own music CD-Rs or DVDs, nor Program DVDs.

Followed more advice and eventually got it to run an installation program (MS Office DVD). However, although it now believes that it has a DVD/CD drive and plays pre-recorded audio CDs, it still sees no files on my CD-Rs or DV-Rs.

Why would that be?

I would suggest you to install the latest drivers for CD/DVD drive from the manufacturer’s website or can update the drivers by following the steps provided below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “devmgmt.msc”.
• Right click on DVD/CD Roms from the list and select
  properties.
• Under Driver tab click on Update button and follow the prompts to update the driver.
