    How do I eliminate the requirement of entering a fax number to print?


    Can not print a document because it keeps requiring a fax number to be entered. I do not have a fax number.

    Printing stopped with November upgrade

    Hey Prestonpdx,

    I would suggest you check if the print spooler is running. Start/Stop print spooler service. Follow the steps below.


    • Press Windows key + R, type services.msc
      and press Enter.

    • From the list, locate Print Spooler service.

    • Double click on the service and select Stop.

    • Restart the computer, repeat step 1&2.

    • Double click on the service and check if the service is started.

    I cannot type in page numbers to print!.. why?

    Hi Sharif,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you are unable to enter the numbers for the pages when trying to print. We will help you.

    • Are you facing this issue when trying to print a online document or a saved file in your PC?

    Lets try with some steps below and check if it helps.

    Step 1: To make sure if any third party application is causing this issue to conflict with the printing I would suggest you to perform a clean boot in Windows and check if it helps.

    Note: After troubleshooting, refer to this section "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting"



    Disclaimer: A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows.
    You may also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot.

    Step 2: I would also suggest you to Download and Reinstall the Printer drivers
    by referring the below link of the Canon Manufacturer and check if it helps.

    Unable to enter numbers

    Hi,



    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    In order to get clarity on the issue, please reply with the following details:



    • Does this issue occur on any specific application?
    • Are you unable to type any number or just facing issues in typing 5109?
    • Are you aware of any changes on the computer prior to this issue?


    In the meantime, I suggest you to check if the NUM lock key is on or not. If not, please press it to turn on NUM lock and try entering the numbers.



    Also, you can try turning off Filter keys and check. Please follow the steps mentioned below to turn off Filter keys:



    1. Press Windows key + R, to open
      Run       dialog box.
    2. Type control and click on
      OK      .
    3. Now, select Large icons for
      View by       from the drop down.
    4. Click on Ease of access.
    5. Click on Make the keyboard easier to use.
    6. Clear the check box for Turn on Filter keys.
    7. Click on OK.
