My PC is coming up with a screen to enter my bitlocker recovery key. Its a personal computer running Windows 10 Pro and not owned by a company. Can you please assist me in finding my recovery key / what account was used to enable bitlocker as I don't use Microsoft Office or 365 on this device.

BitLocker recovery key not working

Hello, I have got a blue screen with request to enter BitLocker recovery key. I logged in to my account and used listed recovery key. But this recovery key does not help and there is no other option to get access to PC anymore. I looked into all possible information on web pages but still I did not find solution if you have bitLocker key but it is not working to unlock PC.

Please follow the suggestions below and check if you are able to boot to your desktop.

• Places to look for your BitLocker key:
  • On a printout you saved. Look in places you keep important papers.
    
  • Saved on a USB flash drive. Plug the USB flash drive into your locked PC and follow the instructions. If you saved the key as a text file on the flash drive, use a different computer to read the text file.
  • In your Microsoft account. To get your recovery key, go to
    BitLocker Recovery Keys.

• Or ask someone for help:
  • Ask someone with administrator privileges on the same PC to unlock it with their key.
  • If your PC is connected to a domain (usually a work or school computer), ask a system administrator for your recovery key
