Windows 10: Pc crashes or goes black whenever trying to update gpu drivers

So currently the issue is it shows microsoft basic display adapter as my display drivers rather than showing my integrated gpu drivers and whenever i try to update my driver i pc would either crash and go to infinite start loop or go black screen with all lights still on and stay like that until i turn my pc off have kept it in black screen for more than a hour nothing changes .I have tried DDU , i have tried booting via usb , i have disabled csm.system information - CPU: IntelR CoreTM i5-8600K CPU @ 3.60GHzCores/Threads: 6 Cores, 6 Logical ProcessorsSystem Overview:OS Name: Microsoft Wi

Gpu driver crashes pc

Pc crashed once while playing a game, after that it would never load windows and go into a boot loop or get stuck on a black screen every time, if i go into safe mode pc works fine, and if i disable my display adapter (gtx 660ti) i can load windows normally but cant use my gpu of course, updating gpu drivers also crashes pc and makes it go into boot loop or black screen.

windows 10 64 bit pro n

motherboard: asus p8z77-v le plus

cpu: intel i7 3770k

ram: 2 sticks of kingston 8 gb ram

gpu: gtx 660ti

all drivers except the gpu are up to date

W1zzard is asking you to test so that he can suggest next steps and be able to troubleshoot the issue you have.
If another version works, it would be one set of steps.
If several other versions also fail/crash, then it would be another.

 

PC goes into black screen and froze

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's not a software related issue which is why I was suggesting that you remove the video card to start with since it's such an easy process of elimination step.

I'm not familiar with AMD CPUs, I did see that you had listed in your system specs but I had no idea whether or not it has an iGPU

Is there any possibility of you being able to get your hands on any compatible video card at all?it would be the easiest step to try to troubleshoot or at least one of the easier ones. You should be able to get into the bios without anything but A display cable hooked up to the motherboard
