Windows 10: Laptop overheating while sleeping with lid closed, draining battery

windows 10 sleep mode - closing the lid drains battery

my drivers are updated, and when I work with the laptop, the battery is just fine.

my power consumption options are optimal.

I have an older thinkpad e330 laptop with the same power settings, and it can stay for days in sleep mode when I close the lid. but with this ux480 when I close the lid for the night, in the morning the battery is drained.

is there a specific solution for this problem?? because it will shorten the battery life significantly, and that's a shame.

the battery is getting drained

my work laptop is an hp pavilion 14 inch. i bought it on feb 2022. i have windows 10 build 21h2 on that laptop. in the past when i closed the laptop lid and the laptop went to sleep all was ok and i was able to wake up the laptop. fast startup is disabled on decemeber i played red alert 2 on the work laptop. it's an ancient game for windows xp. i closed the laptop lid while the game was running and then the laptop was unplugged from the charger. i opened the laptop lid 2 hours later and i saw that the laptop was off because the battery was empty after that when i closed the laptop lid and i unplugged it from the charger i used to find the laptop off when i opened the lid and the laptop battery is getting drained when the laptop is asleep. that randomly happened a couple of times in a few days. the battery is not dead and i can use the laptop on the battery my guess is that red alert 2 corrupted something in my sleep power settings because it doesn't know sleep of windows 10. the problem started after i put the laptop to sleep while red alert 2 was running after that i changed it to laptop hibernates when the laptop lid is closed instead of laptop sleeps when the laptop lid is closed. all was ok for 1 month and the battery was not getting fully drained when the laptop was hibernating. today morning i found out that the battery was fully drained when the laptop was hibernating and the laptop was off why is the battery getting fully drained? someone told me it's due to a windows bug. please see . if it is then how come this bug started happening for me after i closed the lid while red alert 2 was running in the background?

 

computer dosen't **** down or go to sleep when i close the lid.

computer doesn't shut down or go to sleep when I close lid, thus draining my battery over night. my setting set to sleep when I close lid. when left plugged in it still doesn't shut down . any suggestions ?
