windows 10 professional post installation corruption not fixed by sfc scannow or dism restorehealth

The troubleshooting for problems with corruption found by sfc /scannow and dism/ online /cleanup-image /restorehealth were related to the upgrade from windows 7 pro to windows 10 pro. The source for the windows 10 pro upgrade was the Microsoft web site.

It impacted some upgrades but not all upgrades. It is unclear why it impacts some and not all.

The source for the windows 10 pro dvd was hp for licensed HP or Compaq PC.

The problems with sfc / scannow and dism restorehealth corruption have been fixed.

sfc /scannow now displays: windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations

dism restorehealth now displays: the restore operation completed successfully. The operation completed successfully.

These were problems with the windows 10 pro operating system downloaded from the Microsoft web site and/or installed from the dvd.

When dism restorehealth finds corruption that it does not fix I don't understand how to guide it and find the source files that it is missing. In case there is corruption in the future please list the steps to use the windows 10 pro dvd to supply the dism
restorehealth command with the sources to fix the corruption.

 

Does DISM/Restorehealth fix all issues with SFC/SCannow?


Really weird.
Ran SFC Scannow. Says I have some corrupt files. So I went ahead and did the DISM/Restorehealth and it said it completed successfully.
But when I run SFC again getting same error.

Wouldn't a DISM/Restorehealth fix any issues with SFC/Scannow?

Up until July 29, 2016 there were free upgrades to windows 10.

Some downloads with the latest os from the Microsoft web site may have had new integrity violations or corruptions detected by either or both administrative command prompt sfc /scannow or dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth.

I had attempted to fix these corruptions on several computers by viewing the cbs logs and the dism logs and then searching for solutions on the internet. There were no solutions reported as of today August, 5, 2016.

Other steps that I had made were to sanitize my drive then install the windows 10 os from a dvd. A sfc /scannow done immediately after installation displayed corruption. Dism restorehealth also displayed corruption that it was not able to fix. It reported
missing source file to make the fix.

With the corruptions immediately after installing the windows 10 os updates were then performed with reboots. sfc scannow and dism were check again and they still reported corruption that they were not able to fix.

Some computers may or may not have corruptions detected by sfc scannow or dism restorehealth after the windows 10 upgrade.

The version of windows 10 that may have had this problem was 1511 build 10586.494.

To check for the windows 10 version click the windows key and the r key at the same time. Then in the run command enter winver

As of today, 8/5/2016 there is another windows 10 upgrade. This upgrade has not yet appeared in windows updates. To get the latest update search for windows 10 iso download or go to Download Windows 10

The latest version is 1607 build 14393.10
