Windows 10: How to fix a black screen with a cursor ?

I have a HP Laptop 15s, 11th Gen with Intel Core i3. A black screen with a cursor has appeared on my laptop when I switched it on and I can't restart it or do anything as there is nothing, no signs or anything but a cursor on my screen. What should I do ?

I have tried following the steps of booting into safe mode, going into the control panel and uninstalling the latest windows update that caused the 'Windows black screen with cursor' error. However, now it wont even boot to the desktop, it will show 'Automatic repairs being done' and then automatically booting to safe mode. Upon checking my BIOS, the SSD drive with windows installed with it, is not even showing up in the boot list/priority. (still able to see drive in bios under System status and when checking under windows installation time.)

• When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
  
• Did you get any error code or error message?
