  1. Showing Incorrect Storage

Hello, I have a Omen Obelisk Desktop which says I have 1.14 TB of storage on the System > About in settings but I've only got 237 GB of storage on my C Drive. I'm unsure why I don't have the full 1.14 TB and it's kind of annoying so if anyone can fetch some information about it I'd greatly appreciate it.

    :)

  2. Why does storage shows incorrect file size?

    Hi,

My name is Mohammed Shuaib, an Independent Advisor and I'm here to assist you with the issue of storage shows incorrect space. Please follow the below to fix the issue.

    Fix #1

    Step 1

Right-click on Windows icon and then select Run

    Step 2

    Type %temp% and press enter

    Step 3:

Select all files and folders and press Shift +Del to permanently delete the temporary files.

    Step 4:

Next go to C:\Windows\Temp and select all files and folders

    Step 5:

Press Shift +Del to permanently delete the temporary files.

Let me know the status after performing the above.

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

    Showing Incorrect Storage

Storage showing as double the actual SSD size

Running Windows 10 Home 20H2 (Build 19042.964) on an AMD based Windows Surface Laptop 4 with 512GB SSD.

Even though it has a 512GB SDD as confirmed by both disk management and file explorer, settings -> system -> Storage reports the size as 951GB! I have searched but struggling to discover how to get it to report the real size.

Per the image below it shows
    • 553GB used - bigger than the size of the SDD
      519GB in system & reserved

System and reserved breaks down per this screenshot

Have tried various options including disk cleanup, SFC and DSIM to get it to report the correct size but to no avail. Any suggestions on how to correct this much appreciated?
