Windows 10: What does it mean when I turn on my new Dell Monitor & the only thing on screen is a box...

I bought a Dell monitor as my 2nd monitor on my newer desktop. When I turn it on after hooking up the right cords to each other the only thing that comes on the screen is a box that is white, red, green, and blue that says Self Test Feature Check. I can't get it to do anything else, nor can I get it to link up to my desk top as my 2nd monitor? What do I do to fix this?I haven't tried anything really because I don't want to mess the monitor up, I recently had a boyfriend who did all this type of stuff for me when I ran into these kinds of issues however we are no longer together & Idk how t

Dell Monitor Camera

I have a Dell Monitor hooked to a Dell XPS Laptop. I want to use the monitor camera not the laptop camera. I've tried the suggestions from a closed thread about activating the camera but when I try the steps it keeps going to the laptop camera.

Suggestions or am I asking the impossible.

Could you send a screen shot of the issue? To take a screen shot using Snipping tool, follow the below steps;

  To open Snipping Tool, type Snipping Tool in the search box on the taskbar, then select
  Snipping Tool.

  To take a screenshot with Snipping Tool, select
  New, then select the part of the screen that you want to capture. Choose from free-form, rectangular, window or full-screen snips by selecting the arrow on the

My workaround is to use PowerPoint Screen Recorder but this need additional screen capture.

The reason for Screen Recorder is Windows 10 Mouse Cursor for Office Menu item disappear when select Screen Capture App. It is cumbersome to show Tech Support what is selected on Office App on captured screen...
