Windows 10: Reset PC with clean everything but stuck at "Resetting this PC 20%"

Hi,My computer had a white screen after login, then I tried to use commend cmd to run this sfc /scannow. After verification 100% complete, it said "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" Then, I tried to reset the computer with keeping the personnel files, it can reset but the problem still happened. Therefore, I tried to reset the computer with clean everything, but now it is got stuck at "Resetting this PC 20% for around 2.5 hours. What should I do?Please advise.Thanks.

Resetting this PC stuck at 19%


Hey guys,

I've attempted a full reset of my laptop (Remove files and clean the drive). It has a 300GB hard drive.

Its now been stuck on the 'Resetting this PC' at 19% for the past 48 hours.

The hard drive light on the laptop is still blinking, so it looks like it is still doing something but i'm not sure if it is just stuck in a loop now.

Should i just hard reset it and repair or wait it out? (if so how long)
Also if i do the former, i still need to clean the drive as i'm selling the laptop..*Sad

Can you let us know why exactly are you trying to perform Reset of Pc?

As you system is stuck, we suggest you to hard reboot and then try performing reset again and check if the same issue occurs. If the same issue persists, then we suggest you to perform reset using Installation disk.

I would suggest you to download an ISO image of Windows 10 and try to create installation media using the Media Creation tool.

Follow the steps mentioned below to perform Reset of PC:

a. Insert the installation DVD or
USB and boot Windows 10 from it.
