  1. Audio interface volume controlled by Windows and not the interface.

I just moved house and after one week of my computer being unplugged, my Steinberg UR44C USB audio interface isn't working properly. For some reason, the volume dial on the interface is being overridden by the windows volume control. I have updated both the sound drivers and did a windows update but nothing has worked. I have also disabled the Realtek audio driver and still, the UR44C volume control does nothing and the sound volume is controlled by the windows volume control. I have also tried using different USB ports. I can't figure it out. Thanks!

    :)

    Multichannel audio interface in/out routing

    Hi Paulo,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forums.

    • What is the make and model of your external audio interface?
    • Which routing application are you using?

The configurations of inputs and outputs on any audio interface is dependent on the hardware and its supporting software. Any audio interface with more than 2 inputs and 2 outputs, should ideally give the user an option to map the
Input and Output Config, according to his interest.

I suggest you to go through the user manual provided by your audio interface's manufacturer to know how to set up the control surface.

If it doesn't explain how to configure, I suggest you to get in touch with the audio interface's manufacturer to know how to configure the same.

    Hope it answers.

    Regards,

  3. Pop up volume control interface

Just recently, I started seeing this volume control popup on my desktop

One way it's generated is by these keys

My problem is that, apparently, there is another way to generate this aside from those keys. I assume I'm doing something else to cause this, because I don't travel to that part of my keyboard, and more frustrating, I can't figure way to get rid of it, until it goes away by itself, which is sometimes a matter of maybe 10-15 seconds, but usually a lot longer, while it remains persistent, blocking whatever is behind it. Can I disable this?

    Pop up volume control interface

About that image, sorry about the misconception. The problem is not phone related. I wanted to illustrate the volume control the way it appears when superimposed over a page, and that's the Youtube page I chose, I should have mentioned that, My bad. At first, I wasn't sure what that "chrome://flags/" reference was,, but then, as you know, I was reminded of the Chrome "experimental" area, so I am disabling it there as well.
