  1. Random urls showing up and a invisible window appearing.

Acer nitro anv15, windows 11 24h2I've started getting random urls that appear in the bottom left corner which go to random video and blog sharing sites. I thought it was strange so I did a windows defender scan, showed nothing, then restarted and started getting a notification when the PC boots saying that windows security centre can't be started. So I ran an sfc repair health which said it found corrupted files and fixed them but it's still showing up on boot. When I try to open windows security in the settings it shows a black window and freezes up. Then I noticed an invisible window showing

    :)

Mouse hits an invisible wall at random

Heya TPU, I'm back with another mouse problem!

Since this thread happened (which turns out to be something Win 7 specific, so I believe the HID drivers may cause it) my GF has won herself a Razer Starcraft II set with a keyboard, mouse and headset.

    Woo! Glowy goodness! *Rockout :rockout:

Yeah, that set rocks. But since she got it, at random times, which is VERY annoying when you're mid-game, the cursor seems to hit an invisible wall and you can't move it further to the left (or right, depending where the "wall" is) but you can move it in the other three directions. Usually this stops halfway a tantrum, so about 5 seconds I guess.

Tried different USB ports, and the sensor is clean as a baby's bum.

    Symptoms:
    • Occurs with 3 different mice
    • Happens in-game and on desktop
    • Happens at random times, but regularly enough to not be able to play a game of LoL (30-50 minutes) without bugging.
    • Happens since around the time she got the set (sep. 10th)
    • It's really like you're on the edge of your screen, but you're not.
This is what I'm going to try when I get home:
    • Remove all Windows Updates up to Sep 10th
    • Check if the HID driver was updated
    • Boot into clean/safe modes
    • Clean/revert Geforce drivers to older versions
    • Check motherboard USB drivers
    • Update AMD USB drivers
    • Try resetting resolutions to see if that helps
    • Check if the problems happen on monitor 2 as well
    • Check if the problems happen with only 1 monitor
And of course, some relevant system specs:
    • Phenom II X4 925
    • I *think* a GA-MA790FXT-UD5P (but I *know* it's Gigabyte, AM3, 790 chipset and SB750)
    • Win 7 UK x64 Home Premium
    • 8 giggles of ram-jam
    • Geforce GTX 260 (forgot the brand, but it looks reference)
    • Tried with the Razer Spectre, Roccat Pyra and a wireless Logitech mouse thingy we use on the Media Center.
Anyone who can give me more ideas?

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Random urls showing up and a invisible window appearing. :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.

    Random BSOD while browsing internet

BitDefender is nothing special. mwac.sys causes BSODs anywhere.
A tiny documentation can be found here: Solved Random BSODs - Windows 10 Forums
In that very thread, the suggested action apparently worked.

The storage and network filters of any third party antivirus can cause BSODs. Neither MBAM nor BitDefender is any special. For a regular antivirus, it may be shifted to an alternative; but MBAM has no alternative. So a clean install of the said program is the most feasible first step.
As far as the first step is not failing, it is better to not think for the second step. Because the BSODs are not universal, failure at the first step is not universal; and success at the second step is also not universal.
That is why I posted that my suggestion may work, or may not. Let us see where it goes.
