Windows 10: Unable to run an exe file on Windows Server 2016

I downloaded WireGuard Server for Windows to Windows Server 2016, but could not start it. I did a lot of reading and tried different things to no avail.When I run the file, two entries for Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational n Event Viewer are generated:The app Microsoft.Windows.Apprep.ChxApp_cw5n1h2txyewy:App.AppXc99k5qnnsvxj5szemm7fp3g7y08we5vm.mca could not be activated for the Windows.Protocol contract because the current user is an Administrator with a full token. Windows Server 2016 Upgrade

When updating from windows server 2012 R2 to server 2016, I'm not getting the step by step procedures where you can select keep file and apps and other steps. I just get the setup screen, which after couple of minutes it display a window to select what type of windows server you want to install.

Once selected it does a full install of windows server 2016, which re-images the C drive. Afterwards you have to re-install all your applications.

Any suggestions on why it doesn't go through the step by step procedures.

Can't run .exe file

Running exe file creates extra session on Windows 10 Server

We got a temporary file share on a Windows10 server and I moved my .exe to the file share. I ran the application but it seemed to create extra sessions on the server. The application ran just fine. No problems.

Did some webx with Lynn, and find out the .exe promote more open sessions on the file server just from one person executed an .exe (5 open sessions) from a client. This execute .exe from workstation which can cause problem
for shared server environment.

I need some suggestions as to what we might be able to do to fix this "extra open sessions" before the "server" people will let me use their server for my application.
