Windows 10: Setup has failed to validate the product key

Hi, I've recently tried to dual boot Ubuntu with Windows, which was my original plan. The issue: I couldn't wait to install Ubuntu, and that made my laptop panic and locked my drive. Turns out Bitlocker Encryption was still on, so i had no choice but to use Ubuntu for a week because I had absolutely no access to my Microsoft Account due to it being attacked by hackers every day. Yes, this is a new Microsoft Account. I decided to move on to Zorin OS and try to install windows from a bootable USB drive. And then I encounter "Setup has failed to validate the product key" which prevents me from go

I am upgrading Windows 7 pro to Windows 10, but keep getting this error "Window10 setup failed to validate the product key."

I am trying to upgrade windows 7 premium to windows 10. when I run setup I get the message:

Setup failed to validate the product key.

I have run the troubleshooter and get the following error message:

windows update error 0x800F081

any help greatly appreciated...
