Windows 10: My vertical scrolling setting keeps resetting back to 15,

I am having major issues having to do with vertical scrolling. My default setting for vertical scrolling is 2. Lately, without rhyme or reason, it defaults to 15. It used to happen now and then, but now it happens dozens of times daily. In fact, it just happened as I was writing this! Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your prompt reply lacrumb. I did as you suggest and moved the pointer to the far right but the vertical scroll bar did not appear. I then went to Settings and turned Off the Automatically hide scroll bars but the scroll bar still does not
appear.

 

Vertical Scroll Bar

I am using Windows 10 and Office 365 on my PC. I have a large number of folders in My Documents. One of these folders and its subdocuments folders has the vertical scroll bar missing. In its Word and Excel files I have checked to Show
vertical scroll bar options and the files have the vertical scroll bar displayed. It seems to be just the folders where the vertical scroll bar is missing.

Please can you tell me how to recover the vertical scroll bar. Thank you.

 

Mouse Scroll Jumps

It is possible that the Vertical Scrolling is set to a higher numeric value. To assist you with your concern I would suggest checking the Vertical Scrolling to isolate the issue. Just follow these steps to isolate the issue.

• Press the Windows key and go to Settings.
• Click Devices and go to Mouse.
• Click on Additional mouse options.
• Click on the Wheel tab.
• Put a bullet on Roll the wheel one notch to scroll and change the numeric value to 2 or 3 (Depending on your preference.)
• Click Apply, then OK.

Check if this will resolve the issue.
