Windows 10: I am unable to open my extenal device as its blocked with Bitlocker

Hi, I am trying to aceess my D drive external device which got encrypted. I have recover ID, Identifier ID but it always gives error. can anyone guide how to proceed further.

BitLocker is a security feature that encrypts your hard drive to protect your data from unauthorized access.

You can retrieve your BitLocker recovery key by following the steps in Finding your BitLocker recovery key in Windows - Microsoft Support.

Important:

• If you are unable to locate the BitLocker recovery key and can't revert any configuration change that might have caused it to be required, you’ll need to reset your device using one of the Windows recovery options. Resetting your device will remove all of your files.
  
• Microsoft support is unable to provide, or recreate, a lost BitLocker recovery key.

BitLocker key cannot unlock the disk. Neither can i reinstall cause the drive is blocked

why doesn't my bitlocker make me type a password?

  Is your Bitlocker enabled on your system?

  Have you made any changes on your system before this issue?
  

Please follow these steps and check if that helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to start the BitLocker Device Encryption service.

Follow the below steps:

1. Press Windows key + R from the Keyboard.

2. Type services.msc and hit Enter.

3. Search for BitLocker Device Encryption service.

4. Double click on BitLocker Device Encryption service and click on Start button.

5. Click on the dropdown list and set the Startup type to Automatic.

If the issue persists then change the password and change the settings on how drive is unlocked at startup.
