Windows 10: Stop installing keyboard layouts I don´t want!

I'm using 2 keyboard layouts - US English and Czech QWERTY layout. For some reason, Windows keeps sporadically installing another layout for the Czech language, which is QWERTZ, therefore changing Y for Z. It's extremely annoying to keep fixing this by adding this layout to the keyboard layout list and then remove it to make it disappear from the selection.Yes, the layout appears in the bottom right corner's keyboard layout selection even though it's not actually visible in the settings.It only started happening last week and I had to do it twice since then to temporarily remedy the issue. C

This suggests to me that you are using the wrong "keyboard language" for your keyboard, and that therefore you first step would be to determine exactly what language keyboard you have. Possibly have a look at Windows Keyboard Layouts - Globalization | Microsoft Docs.

(The age of any laptop capable of running Windows 10 at all should not be a problem as regards keyboard layout)

 

Cannot remove Keyboard Layout

Hi,

It is possible that you need to configure your keyboard layout that is why you still see it in the list even you already remove it. To address your issue, we suggest that you follow the steps on this

thread provided by DikkeryDok last October 27, 2017 to remove the specific keyboard layout you are referring to.

Croatian keyboard layout is missing in Win10 installation

This issue might have occurred due to incorrect settings. I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• 
  Type settings in the search bar and press enter
  
• 
  Click on time and language
  
• 
  Click region and language
  
• 
  Click on add a language and select the language “Croatian”
  
• 
  Now under languages you can find your language
  
• 
  Click on that and select options
  
• 
  Under keyboard layout you can find your Croatian keyboard added.
