my custom scaling resolution was set to 400%, a size i cant read or manipulate the screen to fix these settings, and i dont have any secondary screen to port to to fix the problem, is there anything i can do to reset the scaling?, ive tried windows + ctrl + shift + B and it didn't revert, any attempts to do so in safe mode didnt work because its set to the same resolution in safe mode, unplugging the monitor to reset it manually that way was also similarly unfruitful

    :)

How to reset resolution and "set custom scaling level" in Windows 10

I'm using a DELL PRECISION M4400 workstation. I messed up the screen resolution of my Windows-10 installation by adjusting the set custom scaling level and the screen resolution one after the other.

I looked up online for ways to reset them (bring both of them to defaults) in vain. This question Monitor reset itself and now I can't set the resolution/settings back to how it was before seems to address a monitor issue and not ways of bringing the resolution / custom scaling back.

The impact is not just on Windows, but also on my VMs. For example, my Mac OSX looks like a small box even VMplayer is running full screen.

    .

Is there an easier way to reset these settings?

    • My current resolution is 1920 X 1200
    • Scaling is at 150%

If there is no other option - I should think of re-installing my Windows-10.

  3. Custom scaling of 400% help

Hi, i recently put on scaling of 400% to not make apps blurry and stuff like that but then i didnt know after that when i pressed apply...everything on my laptop screen just turned big size, like my cursor is big and all i can see on my desktoo is a big
size recycle bin and i really want it to be back to normal size which i cant bother anymore because everything is big size and there is no way i can even get into the desktop screen because of the big sizes.....some suggested to plug in a hdmi to another monitor
and reset it from there....and im going to do that..but just want some suggestions if anybody has ever encountered this before just to give a heads up ....so please help!!
