Windows 10: Why does my Dell laptop running Windows 11 intermittently freeze and I can't click on...

I have a Dell laptop running Windows 11 and sometimes it freezes, and I can't click on anything on the screen. When I try to click on anything on the screen it makes a ding sound. Then it stops a few minutes later and I can use my computer again. My computer normal like it always has before except for this problem. Could I have a virus or malware? I ran a Windows Security offline scan and when it rebooted, I can't find the results of the scan anywhere. I ran a full scan, and the results showed that there were not threats found. What could cause that?

While using this laptop, the whole thing will freeze/lock-up - I’m unable to move the mouse, if I’m typing, the cursor will freeze, ads on pages will freeze...everything comes to a stop. About 45 seconds later, everything will unfreeze/unlock and I’m good
to go again. But 15-45 minutes later, it happens again. This is a reoccurring issue. I’m a full-time online student & this is REALLY starting to drive me bonkers!

If it’s needed, I can try to post a list of what troubleshooting methods I’ve tried so far. I’ve tried so many things & most would be difficult for me to recall. Mostly on account of those methods being different things I found online & were not pulled from
existing knowledge &/or skillset. But I can sure try to put together a list if it would help!

I’m hoping this is a familiar issue to someone out there. Any help or advice would be unmeasurably appreciated. My sanity is at stake here!

 

Dell laptop not sleeping - what is DHCPv6ReSolicit activator?

I am having problems with my Dell laptop not sleeping. It is running Windows 11 22000.466. I ran SleepStudy a few times recently and a top offender is DHCPv6ReSolicit. I tried googling this term and it brings back near zero results. Any suggestions where to go from here?

Of course I have tried all of the standard steps:

• Run Windows Update
  
• Check for updates from Dell
  
• Run the Windows Power Troubleshooter
  

I would be happy to share more information, just let me know what else would be helpful.

 

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop


Hello everyone,
My laptop's touchpad works and I don't want it to, because I prefer a mouse. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series on windows 10 OS.

What I have tried that hasn't worked:

• start<settings<devices<mouse & touchpad<additional mouse options. This opens a window called Mouse Options which has 5 tabs up top, none of which involve the touchpad. The Hardware tab shows 2 devices: the mouse itself, and the USB. No touchpad there.
• windows key+x<mobility center. No touchpad to be found.
• various function keys. No options for touchpad on/off.
• device manager<mice and other pointing devices. Again, only the mouse and usb show up. It appears the touchpad is working without a driver, which is a little spooky.

Any other suggestions? I could try downloading a third party driver, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction.
