Windows 10: my intel graphics driver stopped working, error code 43

my intel graphics driver stopped working, the display doesnt work,and the computer has started crashing, freezing and unable to handle any game or mid heavy program. sometimes it even crashes from using only chrome or even creating a word document. and everytime i try update it says error code 43. and it stopped showing which intel graphics i have. this laptop is about 5 months old at max. this laptop is a Predator-PH18-72, with an intel core i9 processor14gen, a 4080 and 32 ram. and not being able to use the 2k 18" screen is very stressful to say the least.

Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 throws error: Windows has stopped this device because it reported problems (code 43)

I own a HP Spectre 13 2016 (Model Number: Y4G37PA#AB5) running on Windows 10 Home Version 1903 64-Bit. Recently I noticed that the brightness functionality of my computer does not seem to work. When the buttons are clicked, nothing is displayed on the screen, nor is the brightness changed. The Windows notification panel has also disabled the brightness slider.

I checked the Device Manager and have noticed an error being thrown by Intel(R) HD Graphics 520. I have no other display adaptors installed. When I click the properties of the Intel(R) HD Graphics 520, it shows the following error in the Device Status:

Windows has stopped this device because it reported problems (code 43)

When I launch the DirectX Diagnostic Tool using dxdiag command from the Start Menu, I can see under Display > Device it is written Microsoft Basic Display Driver, with the following error in notes:

There is a problem with the Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 device. For more information search for "graphic device driver error code 43". Following this search prompt, I have tried the following:

1. Uninstalling the display driver by Right Clicking Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 in device Manger: The result of this was the computer restarting and then completely glitching out with a black screen.
   
2. Updating the Driver By right clicking and searching automatically: The result was the message Best driver for your device are already installed.
   

I am hoping that you could help us resolve the Error Code 43. So that the computer can use the Intel HD Graphics 520 device.

Intel HD 4000 Graphics Windows 10 Code 43

Thank you for you reply.

I tried step 1 and it scans and detects an error but does not fix it. "Intel HD Graphics 4000 is not working properly".

As for step 2, I only get a note telling me "Windows 10 drivers may be available through Windows Update".

Going on your suggestion, I tried the previous 5 or 6 drivers from windows 8.1, 8 and 7 just in case, but I still get the same problem (code 43).

Further help greatly appreciated.

Restarting a computer can resolve common Windows errors, including graphics device error code 43, and can also fix glitches with the computer.

Step 1: Close all your programs and save any open files.

Step 2: Open the Start menu and select the Power button or hold the Power button for at least 30 seconds and then wait for approximately 10 minutes to turn on it back

Step 3: Turn on your computer and check if the error code 43 is gone.

Update Your Drivers

Step 1: Open Device Manager. To the device manager press Win + R then type devmgmt.msc

Step 2: Right-click on your graphics device and select Update driver from the menu.

Step 3: Select Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.

Step 4: Restart your computer and check if the error code 43 is resolved.
