Windows 10: Windows 11 Taskbar Date/Time Long Format? Region format answer need not apply!

Question: Who else wants to show the weekday in the Taskbar in Windows 11, but not change the date format anywhere else on their computer? Does ANYONE have any alternative solutions to this issue? Summary: Windows 10 allowed for the user to expand their Taskbar to 3 lines, which defaulted the date and time area to TIME, WEEKDAY, and DATE. Windows 11 removed the option to expand the Taskbar, removing the Weekday from visibility, but also failed to setup an option anywhere to allow the user to show it. Open the Control Panel and, in Clock, language and region, click Change date, time or number formats.

In the Formats tab, in Date and time formats, follow these steps:

To change to the 24-hour format, in the Shortcut drop-down list, select hh: mm and, in the Long-time drop-down list, select HH: mm: ss.

To change to the 12-hour format, in the Shortcut drop-down list, select h: mm: tt and, in the Long time drop-down list, select h: mm: ss: tt.

Click Apply, and then OK.

Windows 10 Lock Screen date format

• Press Windows icon + X and select Control Panel.
• On the Control Panel window, select Clock, Language, and Region.

Show long date format in taskbar in Windows 11

I know that setting, but choosing my long date format doesn't put it on my taskbar icon. See for yourself, choose a long date format and see if it appears on your taskbar clock icon in that long format.
