Windows 10: Windows Defender Real-Time Protection Disabled After Unexpected Restart – Service Exists...

Hi everyone,I’m using Windows 11 on a Lenovo Legion 5 Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3060 it's my laptop and I have not logged inwith my work account or any other account, and after a sudden unexpected restart, Windows Defender refuses to turn on real-time protection, even though the Defender service WinDefend shows as running. Here’s what I’ve observed:Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > Real-Time Protection is OFF and can’t be enabled.No third-party antivirus installed but the defender shows that there is a third-party software installed.Get-MpComputerStatus shows:RealTimeProtec

Unable to to Disable Defender Real Time Protection

I installed the April 2018 Win 10 Update today which has resulted in my CPU constantly working 15% higher due to the Antimalware Service Executable. I’ve tried to disable Defender as suggested by Microsoft but its instruction was to go to Settings / Update & Security / Windows Security / Virus & Threat Protection / Virus & Threat Protection Settings. This should have given me access to switch Real Time Protection off, but the final ‘Settings’ option was not available – see screen shot.



Any ideas please?

Untable to Control Windows Defender Real-time Protection On/Off

Windows Defender "Real Time Protection" will not disable

I cannot disable "Real Time Protection" in windows defender on Win 10 Creator Edition.

I have a 3rd party security software suite from ESET with real time protection so I want to disable the one in Defender. I try and click the slider to "Off" but it immediately bounces back without ever going to off and remains in the "On" position. I have
disabled the antivirus software of windows defender in the registry but the real time defender toggle does not budge.

Anyone else have this issue or know of a solution?
