Windows 10: How am i supposed to wait 2 hours???

I wait just minding my business at school doing work, i did notice that every time i closed my laptop lid it just fully shut off but i thought nothing off it. A few days go by then i opened my laptop and entered my pin, but then it showed the message "This sign-in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns. Use a different sign-in option, or keep your device powered on for at least 2 hours and then try again". I was in the middle of school when this happened so i couldnt do my work, i have searched up why this happened, or how to fix it but nothing works. I don

WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT 2 HOURS

Hi everyone in this thread and having the same problems. I'm sure you all are frustrated but looks like someone added a policy on your computer that locks your account for 2 hours after too many failed attempts. To change this policy, you must be in an Administrator account (if you managed to get the password) and change the policy and follow the step of what Chien Sage told you.

THIS ACTION CANNOT BE DONE ON WINDOWS 10/11 HOME, CAN ONLY BE DONE ONE WINDOWS 10/11 PRO, EDUCATION AND ENTERPRISE.

If you still can't log in after 2 hours, try restarting your PC.

FOR THOSE WHO HAS WINDOWS 10/11 PRO, EDUCATION AND ENTERPRISE, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

1. Go to edit group policy (Search in the start menu for Windows 10) or Group policy editor (Search in the start menu for Windows 11)
   
2. Go in Computer Configuration
   
3. Go in Windows Settings
   
4. Go in Security Settings
   
5. Go in Account Policies
   
6. Go in Account Lockout Policy
   
7. Double click Account Lockout Threshold and set it to 0 then apply
   
8. See if it fixed the problem.
   

THIS ACTION CAN ONLY BE DONE IN AN ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT.

This account lockout can also happend in attempt to power on to for a few times in a short duration. Or too much restarts.

The same happened to be persistently. I have followed the same procedure and it has worked. I didn't wait for 2 hours.
