Windows 10: Windows keeps randomly locking itself while in use

I have checked and rechecked all the settings that govern when my desktop PC should lock itself and this should not be happening. Everything was fine yesterday and then today after installing a Windows update, my computer just randomly locks itself when I am typing or watching a video or clicking on things meaning this can't be due to just inactivity. it's also turning off the displays when it locks, which is not the behaviour I see when I intentionally lock it with Win+L - usually the main monitor remains on, displaying a slideshow for some time before it turns off. with these random situatio

Computer Randomly locks up

Ok, so my dads pc (its in sp) completely randomly locks up.

Im not sure what the deal is.

it was working fine, i swapped boards and it game me a memory error but no big deal, fixed that. now, it locks up a few times a day, whether it is in the bios, or post screen, windows, trying to format windows ect.

Im not sure what to do! if its the board i'll rma it and give him "back" the P45 but if its ram or hdd idk...

what do you suggest?

 

Lock Screen keeps changing

Windows Spotlight picks the photos from Bing and displays them in the lock screen. I understand that you have set a picture and it is getting changed automatically.

I suggest you to follow the steps to select the Picture that you want to be displayed on the lock screen. Please follow the steps mentioned below to set a Picture to lock screen:

1. Press and hold Windows + I key on the keyboard to open settings.
   
2. Click on Personalization.
   
3. Click on Lock screen.
   
4. Click on the drop down under Background and select
   Picture.
   
5. Click on Browse and select the picture that you want to set.

Random Auto-Locking of Computer Screen

Nobody suggested checking out Event Viewer? When your computer randomly locks, search for, and open: Event Viewer Under Windows Logs, Check out: • Application • Security, and • System See if you can find something that states anything that could be related to your computer locking. The newest events are listed at the top of each section, so finding an event log would be pretty easy to find. Hopefully we can find what is causing the computer to lock.
