    Avast detected malware, but other scanners did not.


    So almost a week ago, I downloaded NetBeans and send it to VirusTotal.com to find out, if everything looks as it should. When I imported the NetBeans installer, the Avast malware detection poped-up, and I did not know why. So I used Avast "Full virus scan" and after that Eset online scanner. They found nothing. NOTE: I now know, that it was probably a false positive due to a VirusTotal scan..However, when I turned on PC, and connected to it headphones to charged them, and leave the PC in "the login to desktop" screen, the malware was detected. The alert was more of wider rectangle, than regu

    As per the description, you are experiencing issue with malwares detected on Microsoft.com and gets an error message: “Google Safe Browsing recently detected malware on account.microsoft.com.
    Websites that are normally safe are sometimes infected with malware. The malicious content comes from 38zu.cn, a known malware distributor” on the system.

    I certainly understand your concern.

    I would suggest you to run a full computer scan with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus free.

    No scanners were detected

    I tried using my Windows Fax and Scan like I usually do. I get this error:

    No scanners were detected. If a scanner is installed, make sure that it is powered on and connected to the computer and then try again. For information about adding or troubleshooting scanners, see Help and Support.

    I searched on Windows website and found this:

    Method 1:

    I would suggest you to run “Hardware and Devices” troubleshooter to diagnose the exact issue.

    Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter:

    • Press “Windows key + X”.
    • Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Search box and hit enter.
    • Select “Hardware and Sound” from the Troubleshooter Window.
    • Select “Hardware and Devices” under Devices option.
    • Follow the On Screen instructions.


    Method 2: Un-install and re-install latest scanner drivers from the manufacturer’s website and see if that helps:

    Follow these steps:

    • Press “Windows Key + X” from the keyboard.
    • Type “device Manager” without quotes in the search box and hit enter.
    • Right click on the scanner drivers and select “Uninstall”.
    • Restart the computer once it is uninstalled.

      This was not helpful.
