Windows 10: Style applying incorrectly

I'm using Word 2007 and a having a problem with one style in a style set. There is one style that keeps applying with the wrong font size. The style is supposed to be Lucida Calligraphy, italic, 9 point font size.When I apply it to words, however, it applies as Lucida Calligraphy, Italic, 24 point. Can anyone tell me how to make this apply correctly. Having to manually correct this gets old real fast!

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

  Second step I always install, then immediately uninstall, the HSF to remove the excess TIM. Which generally includes thoroughly cleaning either the processor die and/or the HS mating surface. Only both if I really screwed up and put way too much on, but always at least one or the other. Because it's almost impossible, IMO, to not apply too much TIM on your first try. And you can typically get by easily with half the amount(or ~ whatever is still stuck to the processor die or HSF after removing it). Next step I usually apply a few tiny pin point size dabs in any spots that look like they need more. Then final step, I reinstall the HSF, and call it good.

When I open my file in Word, my styles are applied intermittently

I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

If styles change as you open the document, then the "Automatically update document styles" option is almost certainly the culprit. You'll find the option in the Templates and Add-ins dialog box, which you can display by clicking Document Template on the Developer tab. (To display the Developer tab, click File > Options > Customize Ribbon and enable the "Developer" option in the list of ribbon tabs.)

On the other hand, if styles change as you apply text formatting, one or more styles could be set to update automatically. Turn off that option in the Modify Style dialog box, for each affected style. A macro will be required if the Normal style is one of the affected styles.
