Windows 10: Latest Win 10 update has mucked up my lockscreen and screensaver

After the Windows 10 update last week, I've now encountered two frustrating problems:1 The lockscreen has started showing clickbait - "weather" "latest news" "random rubbish that someone in MS thinks I may be interested in" etc. I turned all this stuff off years ago turned off the "news and interests on the task bar" setting; this is still turned off, and I can't find any place to get rid of it - can someone point me to the setting that the update changed so I can get rid of it permanently?2 It has totally destroyed my screensaver. I have my screensaver pointing to a sub-folder in my Photo

Lockscreen/Screensaver

What I am trying to accomplish (on a PC) is to have a slideshow play after like 5 or 10 minutes. Then, after 30 minutes, have the monitor go blank. If I press a key, be presented with the Lockscreen.
After watching and playing a little with the screensaver/lockscreen in Windows 10, Build 10074, I noticed that it is different from Windows 8.1. (For one thing, there is that mini-Sportlight.) In 10074 it seems to work in conjunction with the Screensaver, as opposed to cancelling it. In other words, before the Lockscreen slideshow starts, there needs to settings in the Screensaver. Otherwise the Lockscreen waits a set amount of minutes.
This scenario hasn't worked perfectly. Is 10074 having bugs in that area? If my settings for screensaver are 'None', then the screen goes blank after 30 minutes (which seems to be the Lockscreen setting). However, there is no Lockscreen slideshow playing the way it works in 8.1. How do I accomplish that?
Also, if the Lockscreen is presented, it shows the drab picture from Windows-Web-Screen, even if I select a Slideshow from my Pictures folder.
Any ideas or tips? Thanks in advance.

 

Screensaver Issues After the Latest Update

Outdated drivers can be a possible reason why you cannot exit your screensaver when you press the space bar. To better assist you, we need the answers to the following questions:

• Do you receive any error messages when you are trying to exit the screensaver?
• Have you tried updating your graphic's card driver?

In the meantime, we suggest setting your screensaver to use images from the Photo app
instead of the Windows Live Photo Gallery and see if the issue still persist. To do this, simply follow the steps below:

• Click the Start button and type Settings
  on the search box. Click on the first option.
• Select Personalization.
• Click on Lock screen.

Screensaver photos not showing in Slideshow full screen in Win 10

Usually the screensaver has the settings to change the size of the photos shown.

Personalisation>Lockscreen>Screensaver settings click on the screensaver you’re using & choose settings/options & change size (if listed) to 100%.
