Windows 10: Bitlocker issue in portable SD card

Dear Microsoft SupportThis is Anthony, I encrypted my portable SD card using BitLocker two days ago and printed the recovery key in hard-copy format. However, the password I set cannot unlock the drive. I also tried using the recovery key, but BitLocker displayed the message, “The key doesn’t match this drive.” I have confirmed that the identifier on the hard copy matches the Key ID shown in Windows.I have stored some important information into the SD card, may I know if there are any unlock advices in this situation?Please review the attachment for your reference.Thanks for your helpRegards,A

How to encrypt a SD card without Bitlocker or TPM

I'm setting up a Windows 10 laptop for someone else.

They have a SDCard and we want to make sure it's only accessible on that machine.

The card will be holding synced Google Drive files so if it's lost there's no issue with data loss. The most important outcome is someone can't take the card out, put it in their machine and read the files.

Unfortunately the laptop doesn't have a TPM chip so Bitlocker will only run with the user entering another password (for Bitlocker) every time they want to use their laptop. This isn't ideal and I want to get around it if possible.

Are there any third party applications that will do what we're after? Or is there another method I can use?

I found this older question where "TrueCrypt" is suggested as a solution: Encrypt files on an SD card

However TrueCrypt is no longer maintained and recommends the use of Bitlocker.

Any suggested solutions appreciated.

If I have understood the issue, your Win Jr. doesn’t recognize your SD Card.




Try to perform these steps until your phone will recognize the SD card (for a max number of 5).

• Switch off the phone.
• Pick the SD card out.
• Switch on the Phone.
• Switch off the phone.
• Insert the SD Card.
• Check if the phone has detected it.
• If no, repeat the sequence from point 1.

Unable to format sd card

There are many possible reasons why this issue is happening. To help resolve your concern, we'd like to ask the following questions below:

• Are you using an SD card reader? If yes, have you tried using another card reader?
  
• Have you tried formatting the SD card using another computer?
  

In the meantime, we suggest running a hardware diagnostics while your SD card is connected to the computer and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Open Control Panel.
  
• Type Troubleshooting in the search box, then select
  Troubleshooting from the search result.
  
• Click Hardware and Sound.
  
• Select Hardware and Devices to run a hardware diagnostics.
