Windows 10: Windows Hello Camera Cannot Recognize Me

My camera recognition for Windows Hello was working perfectly right up until the newest Windows Update. I have tried every possible option I can find online and in the forums, but the camera CANNOT recognize me. I even tried to remove the latest update, but this didn't fix it either. I'm about ready to factory reset my entire computer, but I feel like since this is such a prevalent problem, Windows should just provide another update to fix this. I keep a lot of data on my laptop that I specifically bought to be able to handle as much data as possible. I need the camera to work so I can get th

Windows hello can't recognize camera

Windows hello cannot recognize my camera so I cannot use face recognition login. I tried to connect USB camera with the same result. What’s your suggestions?

 

We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner/camera Windows Hello

Hello, I'm experiencing some issues while trying to enable the Windows Hello login via camera and fingerprint. Basically I have this Windows 10 21H2 joined to a domain, and using administrative creds I've enabled the registry keys to enable Windows Hello and PIN login.

Unfortunately I'm not able to use the Hello camera or fingerprint despite the device is Windows Hello compatible (HP Elitebook G8). I've tried all the suggestion reported on the tutorials but still no luck, I have the error: We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with windows hello fingerprint On both camera and fingerprint. Both devices are recognized properly via devmgmt. Do you have any suggestion? Thank you!

 

Windows hello face will not recognize any cameras

Hi, I recently built a new PC, been doing it for 25 years or more. I did a clean Windows 10 Pro install, and everything went great and the system works fine ... Except Windows Hello Face.

I have a Logitech Brio 4K UHD that supports Face, and I used it on the previous build and it worked fine. When I try and enable it, I get the "can't find compatible camera" message. I feel like I've tried everything on the Web. I also noticed the "Biometrics Devices" folder in device manager isn't there, despite the camera being present.

This is what I know and what I've tried:

• Windows update is current on everything, including optional updates
  
• The camera works fine for Hello on my Windows 10 and my wife's Windows 11 laptops
  
• The driver installed for my camera under "imaging devices" in device manager is the same version as the laptop it works on
  
• I've installed the driver several times
  
• Removed and re-added the Windows Hello Face optional feature several times
  
• Manually installed the INF file in the Windows bio folder several times
  
• Enabled several group policies and registry keys per internet suggestions
  
• The camera absolutely supports Hello
  
• I tried several USB ports on different motherboard controllers
  
• I've run the several suggested DISM and SFC command line utilities ... Everything checked out
  
• Disabled anti-virus
  

I'm not going to re-install Windows ... This is a fresh install on an empty M2 drive and I spent the weekend setting it up. Everything else works perfectly.

Any suggestions? I'm out of ideas. Thanks.
