Windows 10: how to run old dvd-rom games on windows 11

hey there I've been trying to run the old spider man made for movie games on windows 11 and i just cant seem to get them to work i have a physical disk and it sometimes crashes on a black screen or something or comes up with an error message telling me to use an admin log in i found out that's not the case is just a safety feature of some description other time nothing happens what can i do to make these work without having to build a very outdated pc

You may also try installing the game in compatibility mode.
Follow these steps to install the game software in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

        Right-click on the game setup file and click on
        ‘properties’.

        Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
        ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
        

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to get in touch with the game manufacturer if it’s specific to that particular game.

Dvd-rom stopped working after upgrading to Windows 10

Method 1: I suggest you to run the hardware troubleshooter and check the issue status.

• Press “Windows key + X”.
• Type “Troubleshooter” in the Search box and hit enter.
• Select “Hardware and Sound” from the Troubleshooter Window.
• Select “Hardware and Devices” under Devices option.
• Follow the On Screen instructions.

Method 2: I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for dvd/cd rom as below and check if it helps.

• Try updating the DVD\CD-ROM drives from device manager.
• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• Expand DVD\CD-ROM drives.
• Right click on the Driver select Uninstall.
• Restart the computer and the driver will be updates automatically.

DVD/CD Drive Saying CD-Rom

My Dvd drive is listed in my device manager however it is set as cd rom in the description, it also wont open and is not set as my default drive, any suggestions?

windows 10 if that changes anything
