1. I can't verify changes using Windows Security because someone is using their email instead...

Recently I noticed that I needed to sign into my personal and sync my information, normally I've already been synched and logged in, but now it's asking me to sign back in and verify using windows security. The email to send a code to however is not mine, but rather "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***" which I know is a foreign email who has tried to hack me before. How do I change the verification email back to mine? And even better, is there any way I can report this induvial to Microsoft. I have installed a 2FA and have recently changed my passwords, but if there's anything else I need to do,

:)

3. Can't Verify my account & changing email

Hello Bojan,

Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 Family.

If you are not receiving the verification code, you can try to verify your account through the online account validation process.

Please go to (https://account.live.com/password/reset)
and follow the steps below:

• Enter your Microsoft account and type in the characters you'll see in the pictures and click on Next.
• Click "I can’t use any of these options".
• Enter a working email address where we can contact you and click on Next.
• Fill-up the form and click “Submit”.

In this method, you will be asked to provide a contact email where a link will be sent after you validated your account. I suggest that you provide a working email for you to receive the password reset link.

Also, to answer to your second question, please be informed that you cannot change the Windows Live Id of your Microsoft Account. However, you can add an alias email address to it. Follow the below steps.

• Sign in to the
Manage your account aliases
page.
• Select Add email alias .
• Follow the instructions to create a new Outlook.com email, or add any address that isn’t already a Microsoft account.

Write to us with the updated information. If you need further assistance, we would be happy to help you further.

Thank you.

Use OAuth or secure mail key for email apps

I am getting the following notice about using an email which I do. I am using windows 8.1. I don't know the name of the email app that I am using. Do I need to do anything to continue getting my email? Thank you for any help that you can offer.

Access AT&T email with an email app that uses OAuth

If you’re like most people, you have email apps that let you read and manage email on your computer and mobile devices. For your security, we suggest you only use email apps with an email technology known as Open Authentication or OAuth.
OAuth encrypts your username and password to protect your info from hackers and fraudsters.

Start setting up a new email account in your app. Your app may offer you a list of email providers that includes Yahoo. If it does, your email app is OAuth compatible. Be sure to select Yahoo as your provider. You’re all set!

Non-OAuth compatible email apps

• Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016
• Mozilla Thunderbird
• Windows Mail on personal computers running Windows 8 or older
• Apple Mail/Mac Mail on macOS 10.10/Yosemite or older

We suggest you switch to an email app that has OAuth. Get step-by-step instructions on how to set up or update your email account in several popular email apps, using our Troubleshoot
& Resolve Tool.

Access AT&T email through an email app using a secure mail key

If you prefer to use an email app that isn’t compatible with OAuth, you’ll have to create a special code called a secure mail key. You’ll use this secure mail key instead of your AT&T password when you set up an email app.

Access AT&T email at att.net

You can always use your regular password to access your AT&T email at att.net through a Web browser.
